Getting Started: Complete Setup Guide

Follow these simple steps to join HedgeFi and start your automated trading journey. The entire process takes just a few minutes and ensures your account is properly secured from day one.

Step 1: Initial Token Verification

Connect Your Wallet for Verification Before you can access the full HedgeFi platform, you'll need to verify that you hold the required $HEDGE tokens. Click "Connect Wallet" on the HedgeFi homepage and connect the wallet containing your $HEDGE tokens. The system will automatically verify your token balance and grant you access to proceed with account creation.

This initial verification ensures you have access to all platform features while keeping the community focused on committed token holders.

Step 2: Passwordless Authentication Setup

Create Your Account with Email Once your tokens are verified, you'll be prompted to create your HedgeFi account. Simply enter your email address – no password required. HedgeFi uses advanced passwordless authentication through Privy, which is more secure than traditional password-based systems.

Verify Your Email Check your email for a 6-digit verification code and enter it when prompted. This code expires after 10 minutes, so complete this step promptly. The verification process confirms your email and activates your account.

Step 3: Automatic Wallet Creation & Delegation of access

Your Secure Wallet is Created Instantly Upon successful email verification, Privy automatically generates a secure Arbitrum wallet for you. This wallet uses enterprise-grade security with Multi-Party Computation, meaning your private keys are never stored in a single location.

Your new wallet address will be displayed in the standard format (0x1234...5678). You can click the copy icon to copy your full wallet address whenever needed. This wallet is completely under your control – HedgeFi never has custody of your funds.

*IMPORTANT: Ensure to select Delegate Access to allow HedgeFi to execute transactions on your behalf

Step 4: Enable Two-Factor Authentication

Set Up 2FA for Maximum Security Click the "Enable 2FA" button in your wallet interface to open the setup modal. We strongly recommend using Microsoft Authenticator for optimal compatibility and security.

Install and Configure Microsoft Authenticator Download Microsoft Authenticator on your mobile device if you haven't already. Open the app and tap "Add account," then choose "Work or school account" or "Personal account." Scan the QR code displayed on HedgeFi, and the app will generate a 6-digit code.

Complete 2FA Setup Enter the 6-digit code from Microsoft Authenticator into the HedgeFi interface and click "Verify & Complete Setup." Save your recovery codes in a secure location – these are essential if you ever lose access to your authenticator device.

2FA will now be required for accessing sensitive features like the Secure Vault and withdrawal functions.

Step 5: Fund Your Wallet

Add ETH for Gas Fees You'll need ETH to pay for transaction fees on the Arbitrum network. We recommend starting with 0.01 ETH, which is sufficient for regular trading activity. Send ETH from any external wallet (MetaMask, Coinbase, etc.) to your HedgeFi wallet address.

Critical: Use Arbitrum Network Only When sending funds, always select "Arbitrum One" as the network. Using the wrong network (like Ethereum mainnet) will result in lost funds. Most exchanges and wallets support Arbitrum withdrawals – look for "Arbitrum" or "Arbitrum One" in the network selection.

Add USDC for Trading Collateral USDC serves as your primary trading collateral. We recommend starting with at least $50-100 for meaningful trading opportunities. Send USDC to your HedgeFi wallet address, again ensuring you select the Arbitrum network.

Verify Your Funds Arrive Funds typically appear in your HedgeFi balance within 1-2 minutes after network confirmation. Your balance display will show both your ETH and USDC amounts, updated in real-time.

Step 6: Enable Automated Trading

Access Automation Settings Click the prominent blue "Enable Automated Trading" button in your main interface.

Configure Your Trading Parameters In the automation modal, you'll set up your trading preferences:

Choose your trader type (we recommend starting with "In-House Traders" for a conservative approach). Set your collateral per trade (start with $50-100 per trade to test the system). Configure your slippage tolerance (0.25% is recommended for most markets).

Activate Automation Toggle the "Enable Automation" switch, review your settings, and click "Save Settings." The button will change to "Automation Enabled" to confirm your setup is active. The system will now automatically execute trades based on your chosen strategy.

Step 7: Understanding Withdrawal and Security Features

Accessing the Secure Vault When you're ready to withdraw funds or export your private key, click the "Withdraw" button. This opens the Secure Vault, which requires 2FA verification for access.

Withdraw Funds Securely In the Secure Vault, you can withdraw ETH or USDC to any external wallet. Enter the recipient address, specify the amount, and confirm the transaction. The system automatically calculates gas fees and verifies you have sufficient balance.

Export Private Key (Advanced Users) For advanced users who want to import their wallet elsewhere, the "Export Private Key" function provides secure access to your private key. This requires additional security confirmations and should only be done in secure, private environments.

Important Security Notes Vault sessions automatically expire after 15 minutes for security. All vault operations require 2FA verification. Never share your private key with anyone – it provides complete control over your funds.

You're Ready to Trade

Congratulations! Your HedgeFi account is now fully set up and secured. Your automated trading system is active, your funds are protected by enterprise-grade security, and you have access to professional trading strategies.

Monitor your performance through the "Open Trades" and "History" sections, and remember that you can adjust your automation settings or disable automation entirely at any time through the same modal where you initially set it up.
